World Taekwondo Mandeville — Competition Waiver & Release of Liability

This Waiver and Release of Liability ("Agreement") is entered into by the registrant (and their parent or legal guardian if under 18 years of age) in connection with participation in the WTM Invitational Championship 2026, to be held on June 6, 2026 at Church Teachers' College, 40 Manchester Road, Mandeville, Jamaica ("Event"), organised by World Taekwondo Mandeville ("WTM").

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in taekwondo and martial arts competition involves inherent risks of physical injury, including but not limited to bruises, sprains, fractures, concussions, and in rare cases serious or permanent injury. I voluntarily assume all such risks on behalf of myself / the minor for whom I am registering.

2. Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless World Taekwondo Mandeville, World Korean Taekwondo Jamaica (WKTJ), Church Teachers' College, the Sports Development Foundation (SDF), their officers, directors, coaches, officials, volunteers, employees, and agents (collectively "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or suits of any kind arising from participation in the Event, including any injury, damage, loss, or death, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

3. Medical Treatment Consent

I authorise the Released Parties to seek and consent to emergency medical treatment on behalf of the participant should the participant be incapacitated and unable to consent. I accept financial responsibility for any such medical treatment.

4. Equipment & Rules Compliance

I confirm the participant will compete with all required protective equipment as mandated by World Taekwondo rules, including full Hogu (body protector) gear for sparring events. I understand that failure to comply with equipment requirements may result in disqualification without refund.

5. Media Release

I grant WTM and WKTJ the right to photograph and video record the participant during the Event, and to use such materials for promotional, educational, and social media purposes without compensation.

6. Rules & Conduct

I agree that the participant will abide by all rules set forth by World Taekwondo, WTM competition regulations, and the decisions of appointed officials. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification and/or removal from the venue.

7. Registration Fees

I understand that registration fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline of Friday, May 22, 2026. WTM reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event; in such case, a credit or refund will be offered at WTM's discretion.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

9. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
